There aren't many films listed here, but that's only because I've already written about a lot of my favorites. In fact, I saw several films last year that I absolutely loved. Compensation was the best. It was my favorite film I'd seen since Letter from an Unknown Woman back in 2021; I'd vote for it in a Sight and Sound-type poll. And Ludwig , First Cow , The Boy and the Heron , and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore stand beside Compensation as films I found to be really new experiences that made me see things in a different light.
